About MATLAB Contests
MATLAB Contests are held semi-annually to inspire programmers to develop and share winning code. Each contest presents a different problem to solve. Topics vary and range in focus from gene sequencing to surveying planets. For every contest, contestants submit hundreds of entries to earn the coveted top spot. In these online contests, contestants compete with the best programmers from all over the world!
Contestants submit MATLAB programs that try to solve a problem published on our website. Our server automatically tests each entry for correctness and efficiency. Updated listings show all submitted entries and their scores. During the contest, the first-place entry steadily improves as contestants build on the work of other contestants, trying to outdo each other.
