How can one pass a file-pointer from one mex to the Matlab environment ?

To make it more precise:
How can one store a file-pointer (or a general pointer) into an mxArray and pass that as OUTPUT (plhs[0] if you like) to MATLAB ?
MATLAB handles mxArray-Pointers in the workspace, right ?
